GuessBound — A Duel of Numbers
Guess the computer's number before it guesses yours
Hey Product Hunt — this is GuessBound, a small number-guessing duel between you and the computer. Pick a range, you and the computer each secretly choose a number inside it, then take turns guessing each other's number, with "too low / too high / correct" feedback after every guess, until someone lands the exact number.
The idea actually came from something silly my wife and I do sometimes — think of a number, take turns guessing each other's. I liked it enough to want a version I could play whenever, so I built one, with a twist: the computer only knows what you tell it. Your number never touches the server at all, so there's no way for it to check whether you're being honest about "too high" or "too low" — you can bluff it, same as you could a friend across the table.
Built solo — Go backend on Vercel's serverless functions, React/TypeScript frontend, no database, game state travels in an encrypted token instead of a session store. No ads, no accounts, nothing to install.
This is the first real launch for it, so I'd genuinely love to hear what's confusing on your first game, whether a duel feels too short or too long, or anything else that comes up. Happy to answer questions about how it works too.
