Hi everyone!

Elon has been critical of Wikipedia for a while, calling it biased, and positions Grokipedia as a "massive improvement" and a more truthful alternative.

The v0.1 version went live with around 885,000 articles.

And according to Elon:

Version 1.0 will be 10X better, but even at 0.1 it’s better than Wikipedia imo.

Comment highlights

I compared Wikipedia and Grokipedia using one controversial and lengthy article as an example. Grokipedia still has its share of bias and insufficient analysis. However, it contains significantly more information and more accurate details. I like that the information includes recent data for 2024-2025.

Elon just wants to own everything. There is nothing wrong with Wikipedia, no thanks.

Scrap all Wikipedia.
Add an AI wrapper to it.
Call it Grokipedia.

Say later that it needed an update anyway, it was outdated.

very good results.

It's a great initiative to introduce alternatives for encyclopedias.

Looking forward to seeing how v1.0 of Grokipedia will look.

It's a great initiative to introduce a competition of general encyclopedias.

New platforms are great, but accuracy and moderation matter. Excited to see how it handles misinformation.

The Product Hunt entry is accurate. I wonder if teachers will accept Grokipedia citations. :)

Launching v0.1 with ~885k articles is a bold start. The "more truthful than Wikipedia" claim is what made me stop scrolling. Curious about how sources and edits are handled at scale and how you prevent echoing training data biases. Kicking the tires this week.

Now I need a tool on-top of that to unbiasly tell me which one is better / more trustworthy.

Curious to see how Grokipedia handles topics that are usually controversial or evolving will it cite sources transparently, or lean on Grok’s model understanding? Either way, it’s exciting to see someone challenge the status quo of online knowledge bases.

Wow after announcing that they will build Grokipedia a few weeks ago it's crazy how fast they have been dropping it now. Also looks so smooth compared to wikipedia, definitely better user experience here @zaczuo
