Griotta steps in before the shopping apps you choose, with a short breathing pause. Then you decide: walk away, plan it, or buy now. A behavioral money app. Free on iOS.
I built Griotta around a pretty simple observation: buying has become almost instant, but thinking still takes time.
Most finance apps step in after the purchase through budgeting, tracking, or notifications. I wanted to experiment with the moment before it happens instead.
With Griotta, you choose the shopping apps where impulsive spending tends to start. When you open one, there’s a short pause. Then you can walk away, keep thinking, or buy.
Buying isn’t treated as failure. The goal is just to make the decision a little less automatic.
Griotta is free on iPhone.
I’d love feedback on whether this kind of friction actually feels useful in everyday life.
