I’ve worked in tech my entire life, and one thing that’s always stuck with me is how powerful it is when you connect small data points to see the full picture. I’ve used that approach in countless situations to understand problems and build real solutions. At the same time, the number one conversation I have with friends, family, and coworkers is always about food and drink. Where to go, what’s good, and how to find the right spot. People naturally try to point each other in the right direction, even if it gets confusing.
So I took that idea and pushed it further. I started pulling data from multiple websites and social platforms, trying to connect everything together instead of leaving it scattered. On Grazing Goose Reviews, you can search by words, maps, tags, or filters to find places to visit. Every venue has a full profile with their overview, reviews, menu, and events. Food trucks and tent vendors show up just as easily as restaurants because their map pins are tied to the venues and locations they appear at. Events work the same way in that you can browse local events or regional ones, and if multiple venues are involved, they’re all tagged inside that event so you can view their menus and profiles without leaving the page. If an event spans a region, the map reflects every connected venue automatically.
The whole point is to bridge the gap between venues and people. I want to give everyone every possible way to navigate and connect all these data points, so the entire food and drink community becomes easier to explore, understand, and enjoy.
I want to do all this while creating as many tools to make the venues successful from metrics across their profile, to AI powered "86 this menu item", to "I have an appearance at X venue at this date and time". Same for users, I want them to be able to power search for what they want and maintain their favorites, request catering, and contribute to the growth.
We have over 20,000 google impressions in the past three months!
We're at almost 1500 venues in the database already, and 513 of them are published with menus! 211 Events across the region as we work to build and expand!
