I was tired of tab hopping on the web and kept getting distracted from the topic i was researching on . Each page had ads, popups, cookie walls, banners. all of it hides the actual content and in the world where the attention span is so low, it was hard to be focused in the noise. All existing reader or read-later extensions were outdated, bad UI , same old interface. Reading was never supposed to be boring .
So I built Graspr around it to solve all these problems . Graspr is crafted to elevate the reading experience and be your ultimate reading companion. It has a reader, which is modern yet minimalistic and non distracting. built to work on modern web pages , where many readers fail. The biggest problem of existing reader tools was that most of them were built on Readability , which works great but fails on modern web pages where content lives in JS components not just HTML . A half content reader easily makes people lose trust . I built Graspr to minimise the content loss to a negligible point . Now Graspr reader shows JS components, images and their captions, all in a modern formatted UI , so you don't need to compromise on anything .
But the biggest problem it solves is not the reader, it's knowledge gap. It has a sidebar which intelligently understand what you are reading and shows you discussions on it from Reddit , Hacker News, X, Github, Bluesky ranked by relevance using AI. And the best thing is that you don't need to leave your page to read them. Graspr has an inbuilt thread reader which lets you read these posts with their comments inside the sidebar itself. so you don't get distracted by tab hopping . I have spent a lot of time in improving the thread results by introducing embedding and multi query generation to get most relevant threads. Graspr intelligently understands what you are reading and retrieve highly curated results on it for you.
And it doesn't only show threads, It shows youtube videos on the topic you are reading , which you can open right there and make notes on, and the notes get saved in the web app or you can connect Notion to save them there automatically .
