Grain Studio
Make tactile image textures in your browser for Free.
For designers, illustrators, and indie creators who want richer visual texture without sending source files to a cloud editor, Grain Studio turns a browser tab into a local image texture workbench with 25 tactile effects, controllable materials, and export-ready output.
Hey Product Hunt - I built Grain Studio because I wanted texture tools to feel more like a small creative workbench than a one-click filter. Most image-effect tools ask you to upload a file to a server or hide useful controls behind a subscription.
Grain Studio runs locally in your browser. Drop in a PNG, JPEG, or WebP, choose from 25 tactile effects, tune the material, compare it with the source, and export a fresh image. You can install it as a PWA and keep using it offline. The code is MIT licensed too.
I’d especially value feedback on two things: which texture family would you use first, and which export option or control would make this genuinely useful in your workflow?
I’ll be here all day to answer questions and turn the best requests into the next build.
