Hey Product Hunt community! 👋 I built GradientGen because I wanted a simpler, faster way to create those beautiful, organic mesh backgrounds that are trending everywhere. I felt that existing tools were either too bloated or didn't give enough control over the color count. Currently, you can generate animated meshes using anywhere from 2 to 6 colors. I’m focusing on making the experience as "zen" as possible: land on the page, hit the spacebar, find a palette you love, and grab the CSS code. No sign-ups, no friction. I’m already working on adding more geometric and topographic styles soon! I’d love to hear your feedback on the current mesh generator and what you'd like to see next. Happy designing! 🎨

Hey hunters! 🚀 Just pushed a major update to GradientGen. You can now export your topographies and mesh gradients as High-Res PNGs.

We added a specific Vertical (1080x1920) format because we know how much you love sharing designs on Pinterest and using them as mobile wallpapers. No stretching, no distortion—just pure, crisp geometry. 🎨

Give it a spin and let me know what you think!

Hi everyone! 👋 Maker here.

I’m so excited to finally share GradientGen with the community. It started as a personal tool to generate quick mesh backgrounds, but it evolved into a full-featured generator for designers and developers who want something more 'alive' than a static image.

Here’s what we’ve packed into this version:

  • 🌈 Dynamic Mesh & Topography Modes: Switch between smooth, fluid mesh gradients or intricate, procedural topographic maps.

  • Procedural Generation: No two gradients are the same. Every click generates a unique combination of colors and noise-based paths.

  • 🛠️ Social-Ready Export: We built a custom OG API that generates high-quality, perfectly sized previews for X (1200x630) and Pinterest (1000x1500).

  • 🎨 Clean vs. Design Mode: Choose between a 'clean' minimalist export or a 'design' layout that includes color naming (powered by a nearest-color-name algorithm) and rarity badges.

  • 💎 Rarity System: We added a fun 'loot box' mechanic to design! While browsing, you might stumble upon Rare, Epic, or even Mythic gradients (0.01% chance!). These come with special UI effects and celebratory confetti.

  • 💻 Developer Friendly: Grab the CSS, SVG, or full HTML code bundle instantly to use in your projects.

I’d love to hear your feedback on the generation logic and the UX. Which mode do you prefer? Mesh or Topography?

Can’t wait to see the flows you discover! 🚀
