Hey Product Hunters! We're so excited to be launching GPT Builder Tools today on Product Hunt. We built this product because: - we believe in a fairer AI economy where the value generated is more equitably distributed (this means everyday folks have access to AI tools, and AI builders get paid for their work) - it incentivises AI builders to create more & better GPTs (to fix bugs, add new features, integrate with paid APIs to deliver a more premium product) Ultimately, this is a win for normal people who flocked to ChatGPT in their hundreds of millions, but struggle to get it to work to a high enough standard that can be relied upon, which is where premium apps are needed. Few things - we have confirmed directly with OpenAI; there is no policy against builders accepting money directly from users - installation takes 2 minutes and does not require coding - you don't need your own Stripe account, but you will need a PayPal account so we can pay you! If you want to start earning money from your GPT today, use promo code PHLAUNCH to try our Pro plan for free. We also offer analytics - daily chat count, the ability to track keyword search results to improve GPT Store SEO, and, if the user gives permission, chat summaries so you can see how users are interacting with the GPT. Cheers, Jeevika Cofounder & CEO Top Road

Seems like an interesting step, but why wouldn't users just go with existing solutions like RevenueCat or Paddle, they are already established and trustworthy, plus the whole "no coding required" sounds good but often means limitations in customization, let's see how it holds up

I love the innovation behind GPT Builder Tools! 🚀 What’s the most exciting feature you look forward to seeing in future updates? 🤔

Hey Jeevika, this launch is interesting but I wonder how well it'll really work for the everyday user who might not be tech-savvy enough to deal with payment issues, also have you considered what happens if PayPal is not available in a user's country or if a user prefers another payment method, would love to see more payment options and maybe some more user-friendly guides especially since not everyone is familiar or comfortable with PayPal

The idea of pre-built components sounds like a real-time-saver. Great work, team.

Found this tool through an ad, gotta say, I'm skeptical about paying for something that OpenAI might just offer later for free, also, relying on PayPal feels outdated The no-coding part is cool but I wonder how secure it really is Have you thought about adding more payment options like Venmo or direct bank transfers?

Are we really supposed to trust a no-coding-required payment system with our GPTs, feels like another cash grab, plus most users are wary of these direct payment schemes anyway

Hey Jeevika, stumbled upon this from a friend's recommendation and I gotta say, this is super helpful, love the no-coding angle, makes it easy for everyone, quick question though, any plans to support other payment platforms like Venmo, might be a good add 💡

Interesting idea! I agree that a market where builders are compensated properly will yield better products out there because they have more incentives. Right now, the payment requires jumping a few hoops. I'm curious if you have thought about the elephant in the room which is what if OpenAI builds a payment system natively? Congrats on launching this product though @jeevika_makani and team!

Interesting take on monetizing GPTs Jeevika, sounds like a way for AI builders to finally get some payback for their work but isn't there a risk that this just creates more paywalls for users, I'm curious how you're planning to handle any backlash from people who are used to getting these tools for free especially as reliance on premium apps might grow⏤what's the plan to keep a balance?

Is it really fair to rely on users to pay for services that should be inherent in GPT tech development from the get-go, I understand the need for monetization but why should the burden fall on users instead of creators finding more sustainable funding, maybe the focus should be on improving the tech first without immediately pushing for profits

Hey Jeevika, interesting product to be honest but wondering how safe it is to handle transactions this way, have you thought about integrating more payment options or even a tier system for different user levels? also, what about privacy concerns with chat summaries, feels like a grey area, curious to hear your thoughts

Seems like a money grab, charging people for what? to fix bugs and add features that should’ve been there in the first place‍‍

Did we really need another way for companies to siphon money from users, good luck convincing people to pay when there are already free options everywhere, feels like a money grab masked as innovation

Found this through an ad, honestly the whole "no coding required" bit feels too good to be true, skeptical about the whole in-chat payments idea, sounds like more hassle than it's worth, curious to see if anyone's actually tried and succeeded with this.

It's interesting but isn't this just a workaround for OpenAI's revenue plans? I wonder how it'll impact GPT quality in the long run, what’s your plan to make sure users get real value and not just hit with fees?

Wow finally a way for devs to get paid directly for their GPTs without waiting for OpenAI to figure out revenue share, nice idea but I wonder how many users will actually be willing to pay for something they can get for free, also not everyone has a PayPal account, kinda limits the audience right off the bat, anyway hope it shakes things up a bit in the GPT space
