GoToApp
Fix App Store links that open blank inside social apps
On iOS, tapping your App Store link inside Instagram or Facebook can land on a blank page. GoToApp gets that tap to the store instead, from ads, W2A funnels and bio links. Your OneLink or Branch attribution stays intact. No SDK, nothing to change in the app.
We run paid traffic for mobile apps. A few weeks ago a campaign went sideways
and it took us two days to work out why.
On iOS, tapping an App Store link inside Instagram can land you on a blank white
page. Not slow, not an error page. Empty. Apple hands the store off through a
scheme the in-app browser cannot open, so the tap dies right there. The person
backs out and is gone, and you already paid for that click.
The nasty part is that nothing tells you. Meta counts the click when the browser
opens. Your attribution link counts it too. Every dashboard says the campaign is
fine, so you go and tune creatives that were never the problem.
We built GoToApp to fix the routing, then kept digging, because it turned out to
be messier than one broken link.
Facebook, TikTok, Threads and Telegram each ship their own browser, and each
needs a different way out. The route that works in Instagram does nothing in
Facebook. Attribution links do not save you either: OneLink, Branch and Adjust
measure the tap, but their last step is still the store URL, so they break in
exactly the same place while reporting a healthy click. And since iOS 26,
Facebook stopped identifying its browser in the User-Agent at all. It looks like
plain Safari now, which means those losses hide inside your organic numbers.
So we measured it. 606 taps through our own links: Instagram delivered 99 per
cent, TikTok 86, Facebook 81. Every sixth Facebook tap needs a confirmation from
the system before the store opens. Those are counted, not estimated. Each link
reports back when a tap fails to leave the in-app browser, and the dashboard
turns that into a delivery rate.
Setup is one address. Paste your store URL, your attribution link or your own
page, then publish the new link instead of the old one. Nothing changes inside
the app, and your tracker keeps its parameters.
Free up to 3 apps. The $9 plan buys a shorter address, nothing else is locked
behind it.
If you run W2A funnels and your install numbers never match your clicks, I would
genuinely like to hear what you are seeing. We have been staring at this for
weeks and still find new corners.

Who hunted GoToApp?
GoToApp was hunted by Andrew Grigoriev. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
