gitswitch.dev
Run work and personal in parallel. For you and your agents!
A background buddy to handle git identities, SSH keys, GPG signing, and GitHub profiles for you automatically, which also happens to have an amazing CLI + a simple fun TUI.
I built gitswitch.dev because I was getting tired of managing multiple GitHub accounts on a single machine.
I was balancing company work with friends' side projects, and switching between repos meant constantly worrying about whether pushes, pulls, commits, and scripted PR flows were happening under the right account. It broke focus and made the whole workflow feel fragile.
I looked around for solutions, but most tools stopped at basic Git config switching. I wanted something more complete, something that handled the entire identity layer and didn't need constant babysitting or project folder organization and assignment with includeIf (cause not all devs are tidy). So I decided to build it.
With gitswitch, you get:
Session isolation: Run work and personal accounts side by side without global state conflicts.
Unified profiles:Native* Git identity & GitHub CLI tokens, SSH keys, and signing identities tied together and resolved automatically per repository.
Agent-ready workflows: Works across shells, editor terminals, and coding agents, including Claude Code.
Reauthor: Fix commits that accidentally went out under the wrong identity.
It's open source, written in Go, and works with your existing credentials rather than storing them somewhere new.
I'd love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think! Happy to answer questions or hear about things that could be better!
Native* - by "Native" here, I actually mean NATIVE, there's no 3rd party Auth, you authenticate yourself directly with GitHub's OAuth to setup your profiles, no double headache trying to sync GH CLI and git author identity between multiple projects, or folder organization required!
