Sharing something really exciting: GitHub Copilot Agent Mode, now available in VS Code Insiders! This is a major step towards truly autonomous AI-powered coding.
Essentially, you give Copilot a high-level goal in natural language, and it handles the implementation details, including running terminal commands. You stay in control, reviewing changes and approving command execution.
This is a preview, so expect it to evolve, but it's already a glimpse into the future of software development.
This is an impressive step towards autonomous coding! How does the Agent Mode handle complex coding tasks compared to the standard GitHub Copilot?
The ability to give Copilot a high-level goal and have it handle implementation details (including terminal commands) makes it feel much closer to a true AI coding assistant rather than just a smart autocomplete.
