GIFCAM is a focused photo-to-GIF maker that runs entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device, and there’s no account, upload step, or bloated video editor to deal with. Reorder frames, fine-tune timing, loop count, size, fit, and background, then export your GIF locally. The interface is inspired by compact cameras and film, but the workflow stays simple and practical.

Top comment

Hi Product Hunt! I made GIFCAM because I wanted a simpler way to turn a set of photos into a GIF without uploading them somewhere or opening a full video editor. GIFCAM runs entirely in the browser, including image processing and GIF encoding. You can control frame order, timing, looping, output size, fit, and background, while your photos stay on your device. I also wanted the tool to have a bit of personality, so the UI borrows visual ideas from compact cameras and film without turning the experience into a camera simulator. It’s free to use and open source. I’d really appreciate any feedback, especially on the workflow, output quality, and anything that feels confusing or unnecessary.

Who hunted GIFCAM?

GIFCAM was hunted by Bakesia. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
