Customs values your car from a VIN reference price (not what you paid), the duty rate depends on engine size AND fuel type, VAT stacks on top of duty, and a car over 10 years old triggers a penalty of up to 50% of its value. People routinely budget for the car and get blindsided by the port.

How do you keep the exchange rates and duty percentages current when GRA updates them, and is that something your API handles automatically or would we need to refresh it ourselves?
Pasted a VIN from a 2012 car and got a full breakdown that matched what my friend actually paid at Tema port last year. The age penalty comparison between 2009 and 2011 was eye-opening, almost a third more duty just for those two years.
