Gestrics
Desktop CRM for translators. No cloud, no subscription.
Gestrics is where a freelance translator keeps clients, jobs, invoices and payments — in a single file on their own disk. No account to create, no server, no monthly fee. Email goes out through your own SMTP. Invoices know the tax rules of 75 countries. Pay once, and it's yours.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built Gestrics because I got tired of two things at once.
The first: paying a monthly subscription for software that holds the most sensitive part of my work — my clients, my rates, my invoices. The second: knowing that if that company ever shut down, raised prices, or got acquired, my entire business history went with it.
So I made the opposite bet.
Gestrics is a desktop CRM for freelance translators. It installs on your computer and stays there. Your contacts, projects, invoices and payments live in a single file on your own disk. There is no central server, no account to create, and no cloud copy that depends on me still being around in five years.
A few things I'm especially happy with:
It knows where you invoice from. 75 countries with their own tax profile — IRPF in Spain, ISR in Mexico, VAT and withholding under the names they actually have. In Spain, the invoice ledger is hash-chained, entry to entry, with corrective invoices on their own series.
It warns you before the tax authority does. It tells you when your country requires invoices to be filed with the administration — already the case in twelve of the countries it checks, and in Spain from July 2027 under Veri*Factu.
Your email stays yours. Mail goes out through your own account over SMTP. The client sees your address, not a middleman's.
It prices CAT analysis properly. Import from Trados, memoQ or Wordfast and price each match band.
One-time payment. €150, no renewal, nothing to cancel.
One thing I want to be upfront about: neither installer is signed yet. Windows will show "Windows protected your PC" and macOS will refuse to open it until you go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open anyway. That's not because the app is unsafe — it's because I haven't paid a certificate authority to vouch for me. I'd rather keep the price at €150 than pass that cost on. The 14-day trial needs no card, so you can judge for yourself.
I'm the person who builds it, and I'm the person who answers contact@outreachstudio.app. Ask me anything — about the tech, the tax rules, or why desktop-only was a deliberate choice and not a limitation.
Thanks for looking 🙏
