geoscrope
See your site through the eyes of ChatGPT & Perplexity
EOScope audits any URL and tells you whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, and DeepSeek can read and cite your site. 8-dimension GEO scoring based on Princeton research (KDD'24). Built by a solo maker after his own product was invisible to AI search — GPTBot had been blocked in robots.txt for 3 months without realizing it. Features: AI crawler detection, llms.txt check, JSON-LD auto-generation, E-E-A-T audit, competitor comparison, 9-platform citation monitoring, and 30/60/90-day GEO roadmap.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm the solo developer behind GEOScope. This tool exists because I needed it myself.
Background: I built pdfnoted.com (a browser-side PDF tool). Spent 3 months on SEO. Google rankings went up. Traffic didn't. I was confused until I searched my category in ChatGPT and realized — my product literally didn't exist in AI search results.
The reason was embarrassingly simple: my robots.txt had been blocking GPTBot for 3 months. Copied from some SEO tutorial without checking.
That's when I realized: there's Ahrefs for SEO, Semrush for SEO, a hundred tools for Google rankings — but zero tools to answer "what do AI search engines actually see on my page?"
So I built GEOScope.
How it works under the hood:
- Node.js + cheerio for page signals (with Playwright fallback for JS-rendered pages)
- DeepSeek for semantic analysis — evaluates intent alignment, content quality, E-E-A-T signals
- 8-dimension scoring engine aligned with Princeton's GEO paper (KDD'24, arXiv:2311.09735)
- All parallelized: 4 AI calls run simultaneously, full audit completes in ~15 seconds
What surprised me most while building this:
- ~40% of sites block AI crawlers without realizing it (default robots.txt templates are outdated)
- Most "good SEO" pages score under 30 on GEO because they lack JSON-LD and quotable opening paragraphs
- Keyword stuffing — the oldest SEO trick — is actually a negative signal for AI engines. Princeton proved it.
I'd love honest feedback from this community:
1. Run your own site through it — does the score feel accurate?
2. What's missing from the fix recommendations?
3. If you do SEO professionally, would you use the white-label report feature for clients?
The free tier is 5 audits/day — no catch, no signup wall.
I'll be here all day responding to every comment. Ask me anything about GEO, the tech stack, or what it's like building solo.
Thanks for checking it out 🚀
One stat that genuinely surprised me while building this:
Keyword stuffing — the oldest trick in SEO — is actually a NEGATIVE signal for AI engines. Princeton's GEO paper measured it: pages that cram keywords get cited LESS, not more. Old playbook, wrong game.
And the reverse is true too: ~40% of sites I've audited block AI crawlers without knowing it (copied robots.txt templates). The "good SEO" playbook is actively hurting people in the AI-search era.
For SaaS founders, there's one query that keeps me up at night: "best [your category] tools" — if your brand isn't in that AI answer, you're invisible to a whole segment of buyers who never click past it.
I've been running live audits from this thread — drop your URL and I'll post your breakdown (score + the 2-3 things blocking you from being cited). No signup, free tier is 5/day. Fair warning: the results are sometimes uncomfortable — one founder found his own homepage was blocking GPTBot for months without knowing it.
How the audit works under the hood: - Node.js + cheerio for page signals (Playwright fallback for JS-heavy single-page apps) - DeepSeek for the semantic layer — intent match, E-E-A-T signals, content quality - An 8-dimension scoring engine weighted by Princeton's GEO paper (KDD'24) effect sizes, not vibes - 4 parallel AI calls, ~15 seconds per audit
The fun part was building the citation monitor: it asks 8 AI engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi, Doubao) real questions about your brand and checks whether you show up in the answers. Currently tracking 8/9 engines on the homepage — live stats, 64+ scans today.
Happy to nerd out on the retrieval pipeline if anyone's curious.
