Genory started from a simple but painful reality in Nigeria and across Africa. food is everywhere, yet millions still struggle to access it affordably and consistently
As we looked deeper, we realized the problem wasn’t just production, but fragmentation. Farmers couldn’t reliably reach markets, distributors worked in isolation, retailers faced unstable pricing, and consumers bore the cost of inefficiency. The idea for Genory came from trying to solve this as a systems problem, not just a delivery problem
At first, we thought we were building a food marketplace. But as we worked with farmers, food businesses, and distributors, it became clear that marketplaces alone don’t fix broken supply chains. The real gap was infrastructure coordination, data, logistics, and financial flow between every actor in the ecosystem
So we evolved into building a Smart Food Ecosystem, a connected layer that integrates sourcing, distribution, and embedded fintech to make food movement more efficient and predictable
This shift changed everything from how we design the product to how we think about scale. Instead of optimizing for transactions, we’re optimizing for an entire food system
Genory is still early, but our mission is clear, make food access reliable, affordable, and scalable so that no one is left behind in the food economy
