Canvas – or "Artifacts" as it's known in many other products – has finally come to Gemini! It's a new interactive workspace within Google's Gemini that lets you collaborate with AI on both writing and coding projects. You can generate text/code, iterate, and refine your work in real-time, with Gemini as your partner.

Gemini Canvas is a game-changer for brainstorming and early-stage creation, particularly for writers, UX designers, and developers exploring new ideas. Its real-time AI collaboration and frictionless interface make it a top choice for hackathons, solo creators, or teams needing rapid validation.
However, it’s not yet a one-stop shop. Power users will crave deeper customization (Gems support!) and better scalability for complex projects. For now, treat it as the ultimate sandbox—not the full toolbox.

Giving a whirl to create a full backend service and swift application. Big fan of the speed to start displaying content.
Doesn't work with Gems, so all the specific writing support agents I created as Gems don't transfer over to this environment, which makes this less attractive. I want repeatable and continual use support for specific objectives and functionality to particular tasks, which Gems allows me to do (mostly). This is a cool UX for general purpose when starting from scratch, but I am going to stick with my Gems for most established tasks in this arena.
Vibe on! 🏄♀️ This is so cool! I love that you can test things out really fast. And validate if you want to pursue an idea. But that being said, you reach a complexity ceiling pretty fast where you quickly lose control of your creation. But this is the limitation of all current vibe tools. I think it would be interesting to do hackathons with vibe tools. Call it vibe-fest or something 😸
