I built GateShell because every time something broke on one of my servers, I was never at my desk.
The mobile SSH apps I tried wanted me to upload my private keys to their cloud so they could sync between devices. That's the one thing I'm not willing to do. The ones that didn't ask would drop the session the moment I walked from wifi onto cellular.
So GateShell has no backend. Not "we promise we don't look at your data" — there's no server to send it to. Keys are generated and stored on your device, sync runs through your own iCloud, and there's nothing to create an account for.
