GamingBubble
Know which Steam games actually compete with yours
GamingBubble groups Steam's 181k+ games into comparable clusters (Genre → Game Type → Tag) instead of treating whole genres as one pool. See where a niche is really concentrated, with comparable titles, release history, and underexplored combinations — answering one question before you build: who will you actually compete with?
Hello, Hunters! 👋
I’m Isac, the creator of GamingBubble.
Working in the games industry, I often need to understand where a title fits, which games it could compete with, and how crowded that part of the market really is.
The problem is that Steam genres are broad. A shooter, a metroidvania, and a roguelike may all sit under Action, but they do not necessarily compete for the same players.
I could not find a tool that helped me make those comparisons clearly, so I started building one.
For GamingBubble, I catalogued 181,271 Steam games, analyzed ranked tag profiles across 83,896 titles, and mapped 1,329 combinations to explore.
The tool organizes the market through three layers:
Genre → Game type → Tag
You can use the interactive Orbit, Matrix, tables, and release history to explore smaller comparison groups and open the games behind each number.
One of the most interesting things I found is that a category that looks saturated may actually be concentrated around only a few familiar combinations. That does not prove demand or guarantee an opportunity, but it can reveal where deeper research is worth doing.
GamingBubble does not give you a ready-made verdict. My goal is to offer indie developers, publishers, and games industry professionals a clearer place to begin their research.
This is a personal project, and I’m opening it for real-world testing today.
I would especially love to hear:
• Was the methodology easy to understand?
• Did you discover anything useful or unexpected?
• What would make GamingBubble more valuable in your work?
Thank you for checking it out. Feedback is very welcome! 🫧

Who hunted GamingBubble?
GamingBubble was hunted by Isac Morandin. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
