Hey Product Hunt! 👋
The idea behind Galaxy Atlas is simple: choosing a star on a map should be the beginning of an adventure.
It combines 109,401 real catalog stars with fictional planetary worlds you can explore. Pick a star, fly through its system, land on a planet, and discover what lives there—all for free in your browser.
The project has grown from a star atlas into a playable universe, with surface flight, wildlife, weather, and custom destinations. I especially enjoy the creative possibilities: a planet can become a colorful forest, a machine-filled wasteland, or a place built around your own story.
For makers, there’s also a local planet workshop where you can add your own models and image signs, save a draft, and preview it in the game. Bringing those creations into the public game is currently a separate development step.
I’d love your feedback on the first landing, the flight controls, and how it performs on your device.
And one question: if you could create a planet, what would people find when they landed? 🚀

Who hunted Galaxy Atlas?
Galaxy Atlas was hunted by Yaroslav Klochnyk. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
