Gainz App
Your camera counts every rep and turns it into a game
Games you play with your body instead of your thumbs. Your camera picks up your moves, so a squat pops a balloon, a punch defuses a bomb, and a dodge keeps you in the round. Go live and battle a friend 1v1 while people watch, cheer you on or try to sabotage you. Team up in clans, climb the ranks and end up on the Hall of Fame boards. No gym, no logging, no plan to stick to.
So this started because we kept noticing the same thing. Everyone has a phone with a camera that can tell exactly what your body is doing, and we are all still using it to tap glass with one thumb. That felt like a waste, so we started messing around with the idea of games where you move instead, and the moment we had a working prototype where a squat popped a balloon on screen, everyone in the office wanted a turn.
That is basically the whole product. Your camera watches you, and your moves are the input. A squat pops the balloon, a punch defuses the bomb, you dodge to stay in the round. Then you can go live and play someone 1v1 in real time while people watch, cheer you on, or send something over to sabotage you halfway through. There are clans, ranks and Hall of Fame boards if you are the kind of person who needs a leaderboard to take things seriously.
The part that took the longest was the detection itself. Getting it to work in a bedroom with bad lighting, half your body out of frame and a phone propped against a water bottle is a very different problem from getting it to work in a demo. We rebuilt that engine more times than I want to admit, and we cut a lot of moves that only worked when conditions were perfect, because a game that misreads you is worse than a game with fewer moves.
One thing worth saying plainly. The camera only runs while you are playing, and nothing is recorded or shared unless you choose to.
We know people are going to look at this and assume it is a fitness app. It really is not. Nobody is tracking your progress or asking you to stick to a plan. It is just games, and if you end up out of breath, that is between you and the balloon.
Would love to hear what you break. And if you have a game idea that would work with a squat, a punch or a dodge, tell me, because that is genuinely how half of these got made.
