As adults, it becomes increasingly difficult to make new friends. Views and values change, people move away or life simply takes us down different paths. Ultimately, our friendship circles grow smaller and loneliness starts to set in.
The problem we found was that social media only encourages endless scrolling and swiping and the essence of finding a genuine friend is reduced to a lively display picture and a few "positive vibes" quotes. We wanted to create something that drills down to the heart of the matter: as adults, we are becoming increasingly lonely and the answer is genuine, values-based friendships to share life with. It is truly about quality, not quantity.
We tested, iterated and ultimately validated the concept with a range of users who all appreciated the experience. We were even featured on a major podcast and listeners embraced FriendSift!
To be able to launch a product that not only looks and feels good but has a profound impact on modern society is what drives us to keep going!
