FretMap is free to all and provides an interactive fretboard to visualise 11,000+ guitar patterns. There's also a structured Learning section: https://fretmap.app/learning to introduce new players to the guitar. For people who move between devices, i.e. mobile phone, tablet, desktop, TV, there is an *optional* paid subscription which provides access to syncing favourite preferences, patterns and learning progress to the cloud. To be clear, the *subscription is optional* and non-subscribers can view the same content, they just wouldn't be able to sync their personal saved data between devices.

Found this guitar tool from an ad, there are already so many like GuitarTricks and JamPlay with more features and better user interface, it's confusing why we need another one, plus 11,000+ patterns sounds overwhelming rather than useful
Stephen, I’m curious about how useful this really is for advanced players, I mean 11,000+ patterns sounds a bit overkill and might overwhelm newbies, also what happens if the database access is down, kinda risky for a subscription model don't you think.
Stephen, this tool looks like it has potential for guitar players who want to dive deep, though I'm not sure about the browser-based aspect and how reliable it would be for everyone, the subscription mentioned, what exactly do users get more than the free version does it really add value or just a way to get money from user 🤔 I'd like to see more transparency on that part, best of luck!
Free, you say, but there's always a catch isn't there Stephen, I've seen too many "free" tools turn into subscription traps, if this interactive fretboard really delivers on its promises, why not just be upfront and charge for it from the start, also curious what you mean by database access?
Nice try with this tool though I'm a bit skeptical about how many will actually use it beyond the free trial, 11,000+ patterns sound a bit overboard, does the paid version come with some exclusive features like better customizations or maybe even song libraries, wondering if there's a way to make this more unique, what database access do you include in the subscription by the way, could be more engaging for the user 😊
As a guitar player, love to see products being made in this realm. Kudos for making this in your free time. Looks amazing - congrats on the launch @ghosthorses !
FretMap sounds like a fantastic tool for guitarists! The interactive fretboard with over 11,000 patterns is impressive. Love that it's browser-based—makes it super accessible across devices. Kudos to you, @ghosthorses, for your dedication. Excited to try it out and I hope it gains some serious traction!
Found this tool through an ad, it's really useful for learning new patterns and mastering the fretboard, kudos to you, Stephen, it's impressive that you offer it for free as well, have you thought about adding some video lessons or maybe a community forum for users to share tips and tricks
Congrats Stephen, this tool seems promising, but why another browser-based option when so many apps are out there, what makes it stand out, maybe consider adding offline capabilities or integrating with DAWs, curious what kind of database the subscription gives access to, cheers
Cool tool Stephen, but 11,000+ patterns seems overwhelming especially for beginners, any plans to add a simpler mode, and what kind of extra stuff would the paid option give me access to?
Offering such a tool for free is ambitious but feels like overkill with 11,000+ patterns, most players won't even use half that, a more targeted approach might be better for real learning instead of overwhelming new users
Stephen, offering an interactive fretboard for free sounds cool, but with 11,000+ patterns, isn't it a bit overwhelming for beginners, also curious if the browser-based approach might have performance lags on older devices, cheers!
Wow, stumbled upon this from an ad, over 11,000 patterns though, isn't that too much, especially for beginners, feels like it should be more user-friendly and maybe have a simpler version for newbies"
Congrats Stephen! FretMap seems like a really neat tool, and it's awesome that you're offering it for free with a paid option. Curious, what kind of database access does the subscription include? Cheers!
I get what you're trying to do here but honestly, 11,000+ patterns is just too much, I think simpler options would be more useful, maybe start with a beginner mode that filters some of these out, also, have you thought about adding a feature to customise patterns, just a suggestion to make it more user-friendly
Great concept but 11,000+ patterns feels like overkill, might become more confusing than helpful, if you're a beginner you might get overwhelmed real quick, needs a simpler version maybe, just my two cents
For guitarists this tool is a great resource. The extensive pattern library is very impressive. One suggestion might be great to include a feature for saving favorite patterns or creating custom practice routines
Offering over 11,000 patterns for free is a huge benefit for guitar players. The ability to access this on any device is also a great touch. This tool is definitely going to make practicing and learning more effective nd fun!
This interactive fretboard looks fantastic. The sheer number of patterns available is impressive and the browser based access is a big plus. It’s great to see such a comprehensive tool available for free
