Built by a freelance maker, for makers. Stop guessing and protect your margins.
👋 Hey Product Hunt! Freepaycalc maker here.
David Lasoff, my partner and I built Freepaycalc out of sheer frustration. As independent builders, we spend so much time focusing on our craft, only to get stung at the finish line by payment processors quietly skimming our margins, or cross-border exchange rates eating our cash before we even see it.
I wanted a clean, free space where freelancers can see their true net take-home pay instantly—before sending an invoice (so you can add these charges into your bill). And because we all deal with scope creep, I threw in the Client Friction Multiplier to help mathematically price high-maintenance accounts without having to get into emotional negotiations.
In all there are 10 separate calculators dealing with most of the major payment problems and some of the workflow issues faced by freelancers. There are buttons to click for each of these under the Take Home Pay Calculator. Check them all out when you have the time.
Freepaycalc is 100% free to use all of the calculators and to read all of the articles included. We built this site to protect your hard-earned margins and then some. As I said, there's a small but very helpful library of articles on the Net Take Home Pay Calculator page dealing with subjects every freelancer will appreciate ; each of 24 of these quick reads take between 4 and 9 minutes to digest. They're not meant to be super deep but they get you oriented with good ideas to help you solve your freelancing problems and not just with payments but workflow too.
I’ll be online all day for the marathon—drop a comment or ask me a question. The site is operational but we are still hooking up some back end features. If you run into a bug, please let me know or if you have an especially harrowing scope creep episode with a difficult client and need to vent, feel free! Looking forward to meeting other freelancers and makers to talk about Freepaycalc with you, today! And one last thing, please share this absolutely free resource with another freelancer who might really appreciate having this kind of a useful tool at their disposal. Thanks for coming by! 🚀
Finally a fee calculator that doesn't feel like it was designed for accountants. The Client Friction Multiplier is a clever touch.
Finally tried this after a client stalled a contract over wire fees. The Client Friction Multiplier is genuinely useful for pricing difficult accounts, and I love that it has zero ads. Saved it to my bookmarks already.
finally something that handles the Stripe + Wise fee split without me doing math at midnight. The Client Friction Multiplier is cheeky and kind of genius.
We're LIVE!
Hey Product Hunt!
I’m Eyal, and along with my business partner David, we are the makers behind freepaycalc.
We come from the traditional business world, and as we watched the exploding global freelance economy, we noticed a glaring problem: solo operators are getting quietly crushed by hidden structural leaks.
Between unmanaged client scope creep, trapped capital from invoice delays, and predatory international transaction stacking, independent creators routinely lose over 6% of their gross income before their money ever gets deposited in their bank accounts.
We wanted to change that. David, who is 67 and has never coded a day in his life, partnered up with Google Gemini as our engineering co-pilot and Hostinger Horizons. Together as a team, we built Freepaycalc—a suite of 10 zero-fluff, mathematical utility calculator-tools designed to give freelancers a strict financial true north.
There are no paywalls, no gated blocks on the tools, and no tracking scripts. It is a completely free, open-access dashboard to help you stress-test your cash runway, optimize cross-border fee cascades, and generate data-backed change order premiums.
We also put together a 28-page Freelancer's Field Guide to map these exact financial defensive frameworks. You can grab a spot on the waitlist right from the dashboard.
David and I are sitting right here in the comments today. We would love to hear your feedback, your cash-flow stories, and how we can make these tools even sharper for your business.
Stop working for free. Let's protect your margins!
