Hey everyone! I want to quickly tell you the story of this app. I spend a lot of time behind the screen building cool stuff, and especially at my 9–5, I push a lot of commits throughout the day. I don’t find enough time to hit the gym since I’m a dad of a toddler, and my daily routine is basically family → work. At some point, I started feeling like a bag of potatoes looking at a screen all day without much of an active lifestyle. So I decided to build a Mac app that forces me to get up from the screen and do push-ups. Well... compete with my commit numbers, basically. It doesn’t block your commits tho. I know we all sometimes need to push hotfixes, so... Instead, it gently fades in a break screen across all your screens, reminding you to do push-ups. And it shows you the duel between your commit count and your push-ups for a bit of motivation. The only blocking part is that you can’t swipe the break screen away until you log your reps or skip the break. But before it appears, you get a heads-up that it’s coming in a few seconds. You can always give yourself a few more minutes. I tried to make it as little of an interruption as possible because I know how tough work life can be for devs. There’s smart pause for meetings and stuff, because the last thing you need is a push-up break popping up while you’re on a call 😅 Just wanted something to get me moving a little during the day.
