Footwork helps students find internships by writing to a real person at a company instead of filling out another application form. You paste in a company's website and it uses a lot of different methods to figure out who works there and what their email addresses are. You fill in your profile once and every email after that gets written from it, in your own words. You read each one and send it yourself from your own Gmail, and when someone replies it sorts the reply and drafts your answer.

Hi everyone, I'm Tomer and I built Footwork. The thing I keep coming back to is that most of the internships worth having were never posted anywhere. A company with eight people doesn't run an internship program, they don't have a careers page, and there's no form to fill out, so if you only go through job boards those companies don't exist to you. The ones that do post get hundreds of applications for one spot and your project and your personality are invisible inside an applicant tracking system. You're optimizing for volume in the one place where volume works against you. Emailing a person at a small company is a completely different game. One human reads it, that same human usually decides, and they can make room for someone who's clearly interested even when there was no role to begin with. Almost everyone knows this already. The reason people don't do it is that it's genuinely tedious. You don't know who to write to, you can't find their email, and you stare at a blank draft not knowing what to say that isn't embarrassing. That's the actual problem, and that's the whole thing Footwork removes. If you have any questions please reach out!

Who hunted Footwork?

Footwork was hunted by Tomer davies. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
