Generate, edit, and export real fonts from a prompt
open-source AI font generator that creates editable, exportable fonts from a prompt. Instead of generating letter images, it starts from open-licensed variable fonts, lets you tune real font axes, edit glyph curves in the browser, and downloadttf orotf files.
built it because I wanted to see if an AI font tool could be more hands-on than just generating an image of letters. Basically, wanted to play around more fonts instead of using the pre existing google fonts, the idea was basically to generate font through prompts and tune variable font axes, inspect glyphs, move curve nodes in the browser, and export a real .ttf or .otf file.
It is open source, and it also works locally without an API key using and deterministic fallback, so people can run and contribute to it easily. This was not meant to replace professional type design tools.
Would love feedback from designers, developers, and anyone who has played with font tools before.
