FocusInOne
Start focus on your computer. Your phone goes quiet.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I made FocusInOne because my phone kept winning. I'd sit down to work, and a few minutes later the phone was in my hand. Every blocker I tried had to be switched on from the phone itself, the one device I was trying not to touch.
So FocusInOne splits it in two:
- On your computer: a Pomodoro timer in the browser. Start, pause, stop.
- On your Android phone: it follows the timer. During a work block, your home screen becomes a minimal launcher with only the apps you allowed (phone, messages, clock, plus up to five you choose). Notifications from everything else are silenced.
- On a break: all your apps come back. When a work block ends, you see how many notifications were silenced.
What it's not: a lock. You can always stop a session, and calls and your allowed apps stay reachable. It's deliberate friction: the distracting stuff is out of sight, and getting to it takes a conscious step. I found that's what actually sticks, because I always ended up turning strict blockers off.
Where it is today: a private beta on Android, with the controller in your computer's browser. You pair them by signing in to the same account. It's free during the beta. Coming next: macOS and Windows apps with a menu-bar timer, then iPhone and iPad.
I'd love to hear from you:
1. Is controlling your phone from your computer the right split for how you work?
2. What would you need on the allowed list to actually use this every day?
