Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built Focani because every "attention test" I could find online was either a reskinned reaction-time game or a quiz that told me my attention span was "below average" without saying what it measured. So Focani runs the actual paradigms cognitive psychology uses — Stroop, Flanker, Simon, Go/No-Go, SART, Mackworth Clock, PVT, Trail Making, Schulte Table, Multiple Object Tracking, and a few more. 14 in total, each mapped to one of eight dimensions of attention. Three things I decided early, and they shaped everything: **1. Say what a score isn't.** These are practice exercises, not screening instruments. Not validated, not normed, not administered under controlled conditions. Several of these tasks have real clinical versions used in dementia and ADHD research — so every page says plainly that this online version is none of that. If something about your attention genuinely worries you, that's a conversation for a professional, not a number on a website. **2. Don't repeat things that aren't true.** You've probably seen "the human attention span has dropped to 8 seconds, shorter than a goldfish." It gets cited everywhere and it has no source. Nobody has ever produced the study, and the goldfish figure has no origin either. There's a whole page about why that number can't exist. **3. Make the UI help you concentrate.** Training mode hides everything — nav, footer, chrome. Light theme is quiet paper, dark theme is genuinely dark. No ads, no cookie banner, cookieless analytics. Free: all 14 tests, 5 sessions per test per day, saved history with a free account. Pro unlocks the harder difficulty tiers and deeper analysis. It's early — the leaderboards are still thin, and I'd genuinely rather hear "this task felt wrong" than get an upvote. There's a feedback link on every result screen and it goes straight to me.
