💡 What inspired me & the problem I was trying to solve: As a B.Tech Cyber Security student who loves building at hackathons, I constantly ran into the same frustrating roadblock: AI API keys (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) are expensive and heavily rate-limited.
Like many students, I had access to the GitHub Student Developer Pack, which provides 2 years of free GitHub Copilot. But there was a catch—those powerful AI models were completely trapped inside the VS Code editor. One afternoon while standing at my college bus stop, an idea struck me: What if we could bridge the models inside Copilot and make them accessible to any agent, script, or hackathon project?
🔄 How the approach evolved:
The First Attempt (VS Code Extension): I initially built a VS Code extension called copilot-bridge. It worked, but it had a massive limitation: your API would only work while VS Code was open and running on your local machine!
The Breakthrough Pivot: While working on FluxTools (which originally started as a platform for PDF and document tools), I had a realization—why not integrate Copilot Bridge directly into a 24/7 cloud platform?

The BYOK angle is genuinely interesting, finally a way to actually use that Copilot sub for something beyond autocomplete. Played with the PDF analyzer and it handled a messy 40-page contract surprisingly well.
