Every English client call at AraraHQ was a tax on our best engineers. So I built Fluents — live translation, memory per account, recap that writes itself. Works on 1:1s, client calls, standups, demos, interviews. Invisible on screen share. 3 meetings free each month, no card.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Micael, founder of AraraHQ — WhatsApp API infrastructure for Brazilian companies. Fluents started as an internal tool for my own team, and I honestly didn't plan to launch it.
The problem that made me build it:
Half of AraraHQ's clients are in the US. Every Tuesday my senior engineers — fluent in Portuguese, brilliant in code — would freeze for 3 seconds when a client asked something technical in English. Not because they didn't know the answer. Because their brain was translating.
Otter, Granola, Fathom all summarize after the call. Useless for the moment that matters: 2:47pm, when the VP asks the hard question and you have 1.2 seconds to respond before you sound lost.
What I built:
→ Moonshine ONNX for on-device transcription (audio never leaves your Mac on the default path)
→ Gemma 2B MLX local for draft responses
→ 801-pair response cache hitting ~92% on recurring questions — sub-100ms most of the time
→ Invisible on screen share via `NSWindowSharingNone` on macOS (same flag 1Password uses)
→ Memory per company — call #8 with a client auto-loads what was decided on call #7
→ Free tier funded by a Cloudflare Worker proxying Vertex AI (~$0.01 per meeting)
How it evolved:
Started as a CLI that just transcribed and translated. Then my engineer asked "can it suggest what I should say?" — that's when it became a copilot. Then another asked "can it remember what we discussed last time?" — that's when it became useful beyond individual calls. Every feature came from someone on the team asking for it on a Tuesday and getting it by Friday.
Why I'm launching it publicly:
It worked too well to keep private. I'm not trying to build a business here — pricing reflects that ($19/mo covers infra, $149 lifetime for 300 founders covers my weekends). Arara stays my main focus.
Pricing:
Free: 3 meetings/month, 30 min each, no card, no setup
Pro: $19/mo, $119/yr, or $149 lifetime (300 spots)
BYOK: bring your own OpenAI/Anthropic key, get 30% off
What I'd love feedback on:
→ macOS is the flagship experience (fully invisible on screen share). Windows works, Linux is limited by Wayland design.
→ If you're a non-native English speaker who does calls in English — does the 3-second freeze thing resonate? How do you deal with it today?
→ If you're building something similar or competing, I'm happy to talk architecture.
Comments are open all day. Ask me anything about the local-first tradeoffs, running this while building AraraHQ, the decision not to raise, or anything else.

Who hunted Fluents?
Fluents was hunted by Micael Marques. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
