Track flights in real-time on a 3D globe with live data, weather radar, and altitude profiles. Built with Rust compiled to WebAssembly and raw WebGL2 shaders. The whole thing runs at 60fps with 10K+ aircraft rendered in a single draw call.

Hey PH! I'm Hao, the maker of Flight-Viz. I built this because I fly a lot and always wanted a flight tracker that felt more immersive than flat map views. The 3D globe with planes actually moving is weirdly mesmerizing — I've caught myself just watching transatlantic flights for way too long. Some things I'm proud of technically: - All aircraft icons are drawn purely in the fragment shader using signed distance fields — no textures, 5 different shapes (jet, cargo, prop, helicopter, military), infinitely scalable Would love to hear what features would make this most useful for you. Thinking about adding personal flight logs, route alerts, and historical playback. Try it: https://flight-viz.com

Wow hao, this website is really awesome! I love to travel and when I was young I wanted to become a pilot as well but because of my poor eyesight I could not make it. This flight website makes me feel like I am on vacation and being as a simulator pilot! Really cool, however there is little bit of buffering when I rotate the globe, well it cannot be fixed immediately but if this can be fixed then it will be more awesome! In addition, if there are countries name written down in every globe then it will be more good in my personal opinion!
Thanks! I will check it out in the future as well, Great work hao!
