Hey everyone! I'm Azeem, one of three co-founders behind Flickstat.
The idea started from something pretty simple: we were bored of staring at football stats in tables. Tables are great if you already know what xG or a pass network even means, but if you're a casual fan, a wall of numbers doesn't actually tell you anything about how the game happened.
So we wanted stats you could feel, not just read. Instead of a table of shot locations, you see a striker's actual shot map. Instead of a passing-accuracy percentage, you see a pass network, and it's interactive, tap any player and you instantly see their top connections on the pitch. Every visual comes with plain-language context too, not just a graphic dropped with no explanation.
Our approach kept evolving as we built it, we started out just chasing "make it visual," but realized the picture alone wasn't always enough without the story around it.
