Switched from Google Gemini to Pollinations AI (DeepSeek V4 Flash + Flux) for faster generation. Replaced Polar.sh with Paddle for inline dark-theme checkout across 4 tiered plans with annual discounts. Introduced credit pre-checking — you're only charged on success. Redesigned PPTX/PDF exports with premium dark templates. Upgraded to Next.js 16, React 19, Tailwind CSS 4, TypeScript 6 with enterprise security headers, HSTS, and proper type safety. Added full Efface Studios branding throughout.

I built Flash because I've created countless presentations for game pitches, project proposals, and marketing campaigns — and I learned firsthand that a great idea dies on a bad slide deck. Most of us aren't designers, yet we're judged by how we present. The original version worked, but had serious issues: Google Gemini was slow and expensive, the checkout flow was clunky with redirects, and the credit system would charge you even on failed generations. So I went back to the drawing board. Instead of building on Genkit (which added unnecessary complexity), I switched to Pollinations AI — DeepSeek V4 Flash for text generation and Flux for images. The result? Way faster, better quality, and zero external runtime dependencies. I also completely re-platformed payments from Polar.sh to Paddle. Now checkout happens inline (dark theme, stays in the app), and the webhook system properly verifies signatures before activating subscriptions. The credits system got a major rethink too: pre-check before API calls, only deduct on success, and added export costs since we rebuilt PPTX/PDF exports from scratch with proper dark templates. Everything is on Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript 6, and Tailwind CSS 4 now — the latest stable tech across the board. Would love to hear your feedback! What's the #1 feature you'd want in an AI presentation tool?

Who hunted FlashSlides?

FlashSlides was hunted by Shahrukh Yousafzai. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
