I’m the maker of Fish Voice — a free, browser-based AI voice studio that lets you clone any voice from just 10 seconds of audio and turn any text into natural speech.
What inspired me
Most AI voice tools either force you to sign up and enter a credit card before you can even test, or hide the good features behind complicated dashboards and APIs. I wanted something that felt as simple as opening a tab: record a short sample → type a script → download clean MP3. No installs, no GPU, no waiting room.
The problem I set out to solve
Traditional voiceovers are slow and expensive
Existing AI tools often require accounts + payment just to try
Creators (YouTubers, podcasters, educators, marketers) need a fast way to get consistent, natural-sounding narration in their own voice or multiple languages
How the approach evolved
We started with pure voice cloning, then quickly expanded into a complete browser studio: Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Text, PDF-to-Audio, Rate My Voice, and even image translation. The biggest decision was making the free tier work without any signup — so anyone can try it in under 30 seconds and actually hear the quality before deciding.
