We're Alex and Christian, co-founders of FirstLook.
The reason this exists: last year we posted a role and got 200+ applications in 48 hours. Almost every cover letter and CV read the same, perfect for the job! Most CVs had identical buzzwords, and we were left struggling to tell who was really engaged.
After spending hours trying to work out if what someone is saying is true, and hearing the same frustration from recruiters and candidates alike, we decided to build the thing we wished existed.
FirstLook flips the funnel. Instead of CV first, candidates answer one short question before you see anything else about them. You judge the work, not the keywords.
Behind the scenes we track time spent, edit patterns, and paste events, so you can tell who genuinely put effort in vs. who pasted an answer.
A few things worth knowing:
