Fincend: Expense Tracker
Expense tracking without the account, sync, or bank login
Most expense trackers want an account, a bank connection, and a subscription before they do anything useful. Fincend wants none of that. Open it, tap plus, log the expense — under three seconds. Monthly budgets, category reports, and a heat map that makes no-spend days visible. Offline and private. Free to use, with an optional subscription to remove ads. iOS and Android, 7 languages.
Hey Product Hunt,
I'm Hakan, and I built Fincend solo.
Why it exists
Every expense tracker I tried wanted something before it did anything useful. An account. A bank connection. A free trial that quietly becomes a subscription. I just wanted to log a coffee — not onboard into a financial platform.
So I built the version I actually wanted: open the app, tap plus, pick a category, done. Under three seconds. No account, no sync, no paywall.
What it does
Fast entry. Big keypad, categories on the same screen, date defaults to today. Most entries are one tap and two numbers.
Budgets you actually notice. Set a monthly limit overall or per category. Bars go amber near the edge and red past it — so you catch it mid-month, not after.
A monthly heat map. Every day as a colored square: green for no-spend days, amber for heavy ones. This is the screen that changed my own behavior. A row of green makes you want another one.
Reports that answer one question. Where the money went, by category and by weekday. It tells you "you spend most on Fridays" instead of handing you a dashboard to interpret.
Plus recurring transactions, multi-currency, search and filters — the things you need once you've used it for a month.
What it deliberately doesn't do
No net worth tracking. No debt payoff plans. No credit score. No investment dashboard. Fincend is a spending tracker, and I'd rather it stay excellent at one thing than mediocre at ten.
Privacy
Your data stays on your device. There's no account to create, so there's nothing to leak. It works fully offline.
How it's paid for
Fincend is free and ad-supported. Every core feature — budgets, reports, the heat map, recurring transactions, multi-currency — is available without paying, and there's no trial that turns into a bill.
There's an optional subscription that removes ads and unlocks custom categories, for people who've been using it a while and want their own labels. That's the whole difference. I placed the ads to stay out of the entry flow — the thing you do ten times a day shouldn't be the thing that gets interrupted — so the free version stays genuinely usable rather than annoying you into upgrading.
Where it is
iOS and Android, localized in 7 languages with local currency support. Built with React Native and Expo.
What I'd love from you
Three specific things:
Time yourself adding your first expense. Did it actually feel fast, or did something get in the way?
Which category is missing for how you spend?
Does the heat map land for you the way it did for me, or is it just decoration?
If you've used it for a few days: are the ads placed where they should be, or is one of them in your way?
I'm here all day and reading everything. Thanks for taking a look.
Opened it, logged a coffee in under three seconds like they said. The no-spend heat map is a genuinely nice touch, makes streaks weirdly motivating without being preachy about it.
Honestly, the no-signup thing is genuinely refreshing. Logging an expense in three seconds without jumping through account creation hoops feels like exactly how this kind of app should work.
