I built FileNest because my Desktop and Downloads folders kept turning into a mess of screenshots, installers, recordings, PDFs, ZIPs, and project copies.
FileNest is a local-first Mac app that helps you:
Organize files into smart categories
Preview every move before applying
Clean duplicate files and folders
Keep the newest copy automatically
Move installers, screenshots, PDFs, archives, and documents into useful folders
Undo the last organization
The app is designed around one promise: nothing moves without approval unless you choose auto mode.
