Hey everyone! This is Dan, and I'm an Engineering Manager on the FigJam team. I'm so happy to share this with you today. I'm really bullish on combining the growing capabilities of AI with the visual and collaborative nature of FigJam. We introduced Jambot a few months back, and today we're taking the next big step on this journey. Please let us know what you think! We're just getting started!
Hey! I’m Michael, an Engineer on the FigJam team.
At Figma “nothing great is made alone”—I’m speaking on behalf of so many people, but excited to share our progress & vision for what work may look like in the future.
I specifically worked on Generate, a feature to crush the “blank canvas” problem and get you going in the visual medium.
We’re leveraging LLMs (large language models) to create bespoke templates, so give it as much context as you can!
- Try specifying: meeting for “x people”
- Tell it what you’re up to!
- Get stuck? Use our prompt builder!
I’d love to hear your favorite prompts so far, or things you’d like to see improved.
Hey all! My name is Conor and I’m a PM on FigJam
FigJam is all about helping teams get people engaged and move their work forward, and it was really clear that AI tools could help us supercharge the product to make people even more effective.
Today we’re announcing the addition of native AI features in FigJam, which we know will make it even easier to set up great boards to get stuff done.
Even though I work on FigJam, I still stress out about making good-looking files. I’m not a designer, so I’m not naturally great at it. FigJam AI does it for me now, so I can just focus on the task at hand.
This is just our first step, so we want to hear what you think. Comment below with your reactions and feedback, and find us on other social channels @figma.
I'll wait for a 3rd party A.I. tool that has a more dedicated team to augment Figma.
Congrats!
Just gave it a try
First Impression:
When I first saw it, I thought the AI could only be used to create general templates, like weekly syncs or flow charts. That's what I understood from the UI and the promotion video.
This really confused me because these templates are already available, and I don't understand why I would need an AI for that.
Trying it out myself:
So I enter "10 Ideas to Promote Urban Farming in Los Angeles"
and the result looks impressive!
The AI provides a structure for researching and brainstorming various ideas to promote urban farming. Unfortunately, I cannot include an image here, but I strongly suggest you try it yourself.
This is what sets FigJam AI apart from other generative AI, in my opinion. Instead of generating a large amount of text, FigJam breaks down the main topic and organizes it into templates on the whiteboard.
In other words, FigJam transforms the text into a structured template on the whiteboard, which is not only more visual and intuitive, but also facilitates collaboration among team members.
Question:
How does JamBot fit into this? I am very curious about the synergy between the two.
Kudos on the successful launch of FigJam on Product Hunt! I can't wait to try and give you my feedback!
I like it! Supercharge card sorting and generate themes and ideas in seconds. Very smart. Can’t wait to try!
I had a lot of fun playing around with this! The template generation paired with the Jambot features like 'Rabbithole'... I could get lost in for hours. Some unexpectedly nice interactive tables and charts were generated too! So many awesome use cases emerging, documenting them here for those interested https://youtu.be/NGEkAwIjJHQ
Organize & Summarize are going to be a game changer for time saved!!! What an incredible update! 👉✏️🔥
I think this is an awesome idea as someone who uses Figma, this would be epic and very helpful. Great way to use AI here.
