FieldSignal
Field notes, photos and reports for sites with no signal
Field data collection for renewable energy and environmental work. GPS-tagged notes, photos, checklists and real GIS maps, designed for sites with no signal, and a finished PDF report before you leave the site. iPhone and Android, five languages.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Guillermo, the maker of FieldSignal.
I spent twenty years on wind, solar and battery storage projects across the Americas and Europe, first as a wind analyst and later running engineering teams. The same problem followed me the whole way: site days that had to be rebuilt by hand every evening. Waypoints pulled off a GPS, notes retyped, photos matched to locations from memory. Later, as a manager, a site visit cost thousands in time and travel and came back as scattered notes and a few photos, and a proper report took an engineer a full day.
The software I found was sold in team bundles with seat minimums, or it took several apps to cover one job. So I built FieldSignal.
What it does:
· Notes (typed or dictated), photos, video, checklists and barcode scans, each stamped with GPS position, time and author
· Real GIS in the field: import shapefiles and GeoPDFs, draw and measure on the map, download offline tiles, export to Google Earth (KMZ)
· Designed for sites with no signal: everything is saved on the phone first and syncs when coverage returns
· A Site Visit Report in PDF or Word, with photos, map, checklist results and an AI-drafted summary written from what was actually recorded
· Teams: visit assignment, sign-off and approval, corrective actions, full edit history
· English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese and German, including the reports
Who it's for: technicians, inspectors and supervisors on solar, wind and battery storage sites, and environmental consultants doing surveys and regulated field work.
Pricing: there is a free plan, and every new account gets 14 days of full team access, no card needed. Paid plans are on fieldsignal.com/pricing.
I'd really value feedback from anyone who does field work, in any industry: what does your evening look like after a site day, and what would you need from an app like this before you trusted it with your records?

Who hunted FieldSignal?
FieldSignal was hunted by Guillermo Robles. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
