Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm excited to share FieldForge, a Chrome Extension I built to solve a problem I kept running into as a Salesforce developer.
Creating multiple custom fields in Salesforce is often repetitive and time-consuming. Whether you're setting up a new data model, building a feature, or preparing a sandbox, you can end up spending hours creating fields one by one or setting up deployment workflows for relatively small changes.
FieldForge lets you upload a CSV or Excel file, review and edit field definitions, validate them against your org, and deploy them safely using the Salesforce Metadata API.
A few things I focused on while building it:
✅ Bulk field creation from CSV/XLSX
✅ Org-aware validation before deployment
✅ Metadata XML preview and deploy package download
✅ Production safety confirmations
✅ Deployment logs and progress tracking
✅ No credential storage and no external servers
✅ Open-source from day one
This is a project built by a Salesforce developer for Salesforce developers, and I'd genuinely love to hear your feedback, ideas, and feature requests.
Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
