I built Fence Calculator Hub because planning a fence is surprisingly difficult before you even start building.
A simple measurement doesn't tell you how many posts, panels, pickets, or bags of concrete you'll need — and small layout decisions can change the entire material list and project cost.
I wanted to make that planning process much easier.
Instead of creating just another basic fence-length calculator, I built Fence Calculator Hub around the complete planning workflow: choose a fence type, plan the layout, optimize post spacing, calculate the required materials, visualize the result, and get a planning-level cost estimate before purchasing.
The calculations are designed to be deterministic and transparent, so the user can understand where the numbers come from rather than simply receiving a black-box result.
This is still an evolving project, and I'm launching it because I want to learn from people who actually plan, build, estimate, or purchase fencing.

I came across Fence Calculator Hub and honestly, I like the idea behind it.
At first it looks like a simple fence calculator, but there’s more to it once you start using it. It brings the layout, post spacing, material quantities, and cost estimate into the same workflow, which makes more sense than having to figure each part out separately.
I also like that you can plan things out before actually buying materials. That’s probably where this could be genuinely useful for DIY projects and smaller contractors.
It’s still a focused product and there’s definitely room to expand the types of fences, materials, and scenarios it supports, but the foundation is solid.
I’d be interested to see where this goes as more real-world use cases get added.
