FeatherFile
Privacy-first image compressor powered by WebAssembly
Compress and convert images instantly without uploading them to any server. Powered by WebAssembly, Featherfile processes everything 100% locally in your browser. Fast, secure, and privacy-first.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m Davide, the creator of Featherfile.
I built this tool because I was frustrated with existing online image compressors. Most of them are packed with tracking cookies, heavy ad banners, and force you to upload your personal photos to their servers.
Featherfile changes that by doing 100% of the heavy lifting locally in your browser.
🛠️ How it works:
Thanks to WebAssembly (WASM), we compiled high-performance C++ image codecs directly into the browser. Once the web app loads, your images never leave your machine.
Featherfile is currently in alpha, and I’d love to hear your thoughts! What formats or features should I add next? How’s the compression speed on your device?

Who hunted FeatherFile?
FeatherFile was hunted by Davide. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
