I’m the maker of Fb Insta Downloader, and I’m incredibly excited to share this project with you all today!
Why I built this:
We’ve all faced the headache of trying to save a great video or reel from Instagram or Facebook. The common workaround is using online web downloaders, but let's be honest—those sites are complete junk. They redirect you to sketchy pages, spam you with fake virus alerts, and compromise your browsing experience.
I wanted to create a solution that is minimal, clean, and completely safe to use.
The Tech Behind It:
To keep things lightweight and fast, I built this as a hybrid app using JavaScript/HTML packed inside a Capacitor native shell for iOS. The heavy lifting is handled by a robust Next.js API on the server side, utilizing yt-dlp to safely fetch the highest quality resolution available.
