Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Farthingly because I got tired of watching finance teams across Africa fight with tools that weren't designed for them.
The typical expense workflow at an African SME looks like this: employees submit receipts via WhatsApp or in a physical envelope. Someone manually enters everything into a spreadsheet. Reimbursements happen by bank transfer weeks later. Month-end is chaos.
We tried every expense tool on the market. They all assume clean thermal receipts, single currencies, and bank-transfer-only reimbursement. None of them handle the realities of running a business in Lagos, Nairobi, or Accra — handwritten receipts, mobile money payments, multi-currency operations, or local tax compliance.
So we built Farthingly from scratch.
A few things I'm proud of:
→ Full approval chains that match how African businesses actually operate — configurable by amount, department, category, or project
→ Withholding tax calculated automatically across Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa using 2026 rates — no manual lookups
→ Procurement built in — purchase requests through POs and invoice matching, not just expense claims
→ Penny, our AI assistant, has live access to your company's spend data. Ask a question, get an answer with real numbers
→ Corporate cards with spend controls — every swipe becomes an expense automatically
Free to start, $2/user/month on Pro. We priced it for African businesses, not Silicon Valley budgets.
Would love your feedback. I'm here all day — AMA 🙏
