Faahh

Slap your desk. Unplug distractions. Get back to focus.

Faahhh is a tiny focus app that interrupts you the moment you drift. Faahhh sits quietly in your menu bar — then hits you with a loud “Faahh…” (or any custom sound). Slap your desk to trigger it. Unplug something and your laptop screams. No blockers. No dashboards. Just instant awareness, chaos, and focus.

Is there a mobile integration in the roadmap that can catch If I pickup my phone?

When you said slap your desk, do you mean literally or on your desktop click? :)

not gonna lie, this is the kind of aggressive motivation I need sometimes 😂

Really like the idea. I find myself easily ignoring the small nudges, so would love to try something like this. Most interested in the idle "faahh". Can you customize how long before the sound

Fahhh! Btw have you yourself have become desensitized to the “Faahh” over time?

I've been building a focus timer for 2 years and somehow never considered the "scream at the user" approach. Respect for the pure chaos energy here. Honestly the desk slap as a trigger is lowkey genius because it's a physical action that snaps you back. Most focus tools (mine included) try to be all zen about it. Sometimes you just need to be yelled at.

Hey everyone 👋

I kept opening X “for 5 minutes”…
…and somehow losing 2 hours without noticing.

So I built Faahh — an app that doesn’t remind you…
it interrupts you.

It sits quietly in your menu bar —
then suddenly hits you with a loud “Faahh…” 😄

No dashboards. No blockers.
Just instant awareness the moment you drift.

⚡ What makes it different

• Actually calls you out (not gentle nudges)
• Upload your own MP3s (roast yourself 😄)
• Smart idle detection
• Escalates if you ignore it
• Rewards you when you get back to work

• 🖥️ USB Sentinel — unplug something → your laptop screams
• 👋 Desk Slap Trigger — literally slap your desk to fire a roast
• Runs silently in tray / menu bar
• Works on Mac, Windows & Linux

Inspired by apps like SlapMac — but I wanted more control, customization, and personality.

Built this in 24 hours as a fun experiment…
didn’t expect it to work this well 😅

Curious — which feature would you actually use?
Idle roast, USB alarm, or desk slap? 👀
