Constantly bouncing back and forth and rebuilding those windows every day became part of the routine whether I liked it or not. When tabs arrived, I saw an opportunity to reopen my working folders quickly so I could stay focused on turning data into information instead of rebuilding the same workspace over and over.
I did not begin this with the intention of replacing Explorer or comparing it to other tools. I simply saw missing functionality and started experimenting, and somewhere along the way realized it could be used to manage repeatable workspaces rather than just reopen folders.
What caught me off guard was how difficult reliability became, because getting restores to work consistently across different systems required working through timing issues and focus behavior that were not obvious at the beginning.
