How much food do you throw away simply because you forgot it was there? ExpiryMate helps you track what’s in your fridge, freezer and pantry, see what expires next, plan meals, and build a smarter shopping list so you buy only what you need. Scan barcodes, share with your household, get timely reminders and turn forgotten groceries into meals instead of waste.
Most food waste starts with five harmless words: “I forgot we had that.”
I kept seeing the same pattern: food hidden at the back of the fridge, groceries bought twice, and ingredients expiring because there was no simple way to see what needed using first.
That is why I built ExpiryMate.
The idea was not just to create another expiry-date tracker. I wanted to connect the entire household food cycle: know what you already have, see what expires next, turn those ingredients into meal ideas, and maintain a shopping list based on what you actually need.
The biggest challenge was making food tracking useful without turning it into another daily chore. ExpiryMate has evolved around reducing that friction through barcode scanning, reminders, shared household access, storage zones and a shopping list that works alongside the food tracker.
I’m launching it here because I would genuinely value feedback from people who want to waste less food—or simply want to stop discovering forgotten groceries one day too late.
What is the one feature that would make ExpiryMate indispensable in your home?
love how it nudges you to use up what's about to expire with meal suggestions instead of just flashing a red warning. that little pivot from guilt trip to actually helping you cook is such a thoughtful design choice.
