Experiments help you track your life experiments, letting you check in on your progress and log observations through notes or photos. At the end of your chosen duration, you can review and reflect on whether you want to continue with it.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm excited to introduce my first iOS app, Experiments!
Experiments is an app that helps you track new things before fully adding them into your life. Whether you're picking up a new hobby, building a habit, or testing out a new app or product, you can treat it as an experiment.
Set a duration, check in on your progress, and log your observations with notes or photos. When the experiment ends, review and reflect on whether it’s something you want to keep.
My inspiration for this app idea came from two main sources. First, I have been a fan of Matt D'Avella's 30 day experiments for years. Then, when Anne-Laure Le Cunff announced her book, Tiny Experiments, I became even more drawn to the concept of living life as an experiment.
With tools like Cursor available today, I wanted to give it a shot to bring the app idea to life, and I did! More recently, I've also invited my friend Karl, the creator of SyncTasks, to collaborate on experiments to take it further.
This feels like such a thoughtful way to explore new habits without overcommitting.
Cool idea! I'm curious what your background is? I am thinking about using Cursor too and don't really have experience coding at all. I love how the UI looks really similar to Notion, which I already use to track my habits. I wonder how you think about this vs. traditional note-taking apps like Notion?
Such a good idea! I love it. So many things I want to consciously experiment. Tracking the journey of the experiment will definitely make them clearer and more purposeful. Congrats on your launch!
PS: If you like journaling, I'm launching a very cool iOS app very soon.
I actually discovered it on X and had already been using it — so great to see it here too! Really love the simple and smooth experience. Wishing you all the best with the launch. 🚀🎉
Love the structured approach to self-improvement!Are there pre-built experiment templates for common goals like fitness or productivity?
Congrats on launching your first iOS app! 🎉 The idea of living life as a series of experiments really resonates—it’s such a healthy, low-pressure approach to trying new things. I love how Experiments gives structure to exploration, making it easier to reflect before committing long-term.
The integration of notes, photos, and that post-experiment review step is such a thoughtful touch. Can totally see this being helpful for anyone into self-growth or even product testers trying new tools!
Excited to see how this evolves—wishing you and Karl the best as you keep building! 🚀
Experiments offers a structured approach to testing new habits and routines, which is quite appealing. The ability to log observations with notes or photos adds a personal touch to tracking progress. I'm curious about how the app integrates with other productivity tools—are there options to sync data with calendars or task managers to provide a more comprehensive overview of one's commitments?
Love the concept. Seeing this product reminds me of something I’ve always wanted to try but never stuck with: whether drinking more water really improves the skin.
I'm very much looking forward to exploring Experiments & what it can do on the channel.
