EventQuiz
Questions on the big screen, answers from the room's phones
Run a live quiz at your event. Questions go on the projector, players answer on their own phones with a PIN and a nickname, no app and no accounts. Four modes: quiz, survivor, survey and lucky draw. Pictures in questions, AI written questions, and closest number questions where the room types a number. $39 buys 72 hours of live time with unlimited sessions inside it, not a single game. Measured with 1,000 players in one room and zero dropped answers.
I run training sessions and events for a living, and this started as a tool for my own workshops.
The problem was always the same. Free plans cap the room at 10 players, and everything past that is a monthly subscription, while I host maybe one event a month. I was paying twelve months to use something four times.
So: questions go on the projector, people join from their own phones with a PIN and a nickname. No app, no accounts, nothing to install. Four modes, picked when you build the game:
- Quiz: points, faster answers score more, leaderboard.
- Survivor: a wrong answer costs a life, the screen counts down who is still standing.
- Survey: no points and no right answers, bars fill in live while people vote.
- Lucky Draw: no questions at all, the screen spins the nicknames and stops on a winner.
Three things I added because the room asked for them: a picture on any question, the answer spread with percentages right after each question, and a closest number question where people type a number and the nearest guess takes the points.
What is different: you pay when you host. 39 USD once gives 72 hours of live time with as many sessions as you want inside it, and nothing renews on its own. Capacity is measured, not estimated: 1,000 players in one room, 20,000 answers, none dropped.
What it is not: there is no free tier, only a 24 hour trial with up to 10 players. No open text answers, no audience Q&A, no word clouds yet. If those are what your event needs, Slido and Mentimeter do them well.
Built and run by one person, and I still use it on real stages. Tell me what breaks and what is missing; feature requests here reach the person who writes the code.

Who hunted EventQuiz?
EventQuiz was hunted by Radomir Jaksic. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
